Farmers Markets/Farm Stands along I-89 Corridor, Concord NH to Burlington VT
I am travelling to Boston this week and will miss my local farmer's market and want to stop somewhere on my way home Friday to stock up on local fresh produce!
Are there any farmers markets being held along the I-89 corridor on Friday? If not, any good farm markets/stands that you can recommend? I'd prefer not to go more than a couple miles off the interstate.
There is a great farm just off exit 2 (Clinton Street) from I-89 outside of Concord, NH. Lewis Farms. It can't be more than a mile off the exit. I stop in there weekly to grab some of whatever is in season at the time. They grow all kinds of things.
There are directions to the farm on their site http://www.lewisfarmnh.com/content/2067
You can see on their site they are also at the Concord Farmer's Market, but I live near the farm so going there is my preference, and it's a short jaunt off highway 89, per your request.

PS - I should add that if you go to Lewis farms you are not limited to what may be already picked in the red farm shed. Just ask what's available and it may entail walking into one of the greenhouses or into one of the garden plots and picking it right there. That's often what I end up doing and of course it doesn't get any fresher than that.
The Richmond (VT) farmer's market is on Friday from 3-6:30 on the Village Green. There's also Killdeer Farm Stand in Norwich, VT which is actually off 91 but it's very close to 89 (about 5 minutes from 89). Killdeer is a really neat farm stand. They've got lots of their own vegetables (including corn already!) and then also things from other farms including fruits, meats, dairy products, even some harder to find local things like flour, apple cider vinegar, maybe even sunflower oil. You can check their web site out at Killdeerfarm.com.
