Egyptian Food? Esp. take out
In order to get excited for our King Tut visit tomorrow, want Egyptian food tonight. Take out since we'll be doing some cooking ourselves. Any suggestions - SF, South SF, Daly City? Searching came up next to nothing.

I just read about kushari / koshary in Saveur, which reminded me of seeing it on Bourdan's show, and would like to try some. Anybody had it around here other than at al-Masri?
I went to al-Masri a couple of years ago and the food was OK but not memorable. It seemed more of a belly-dance club with a restaurant than vice-versa. One report in the archive: http://chowhound.chow.com/topics/16819
One other Egyptian place, Crave City, which specializes in feteer (something like pizza).

re: Robert Lauriston
Sahari in Sunnyvale used to do this as a special. They closed the restaurant but still do catering. It's not on their current catering menu, but maybe they would do it as a special request?

What was wrong with this? Are they no longer open?
