echire butter in Vancouver

ume Jul 25, 2009 09:53 AM

Does anybody know whether any retailers carry echire butter...I know Toronto's St.Lawrence Market had it in stock but I'm wondering if anybody has seen it in Vancouver? I'm also open to suggestions on something equivalent if anybody has any suggestions. Thanks.

I was at Les Amis this morning -- no dice -- but call them anyway in case they can stock it.

They do carry it - I bought some a while ago.

Yes, I've seen it *many* times at Les Amis (and bought it too). But there are apparently limits on the amount of butter Canadian retailers can import from France, so the stock is not totally predictable.

It's not echire butter from France, but if you're into European butter, La Grotta del Formaggio on Commerical Drive sometimes has really lovely butter from Italy. If you're in the neighbourhood.....
