Suggestions for dining near the Canal and Hudson Streets.

lily.violet Jul 24, 2009 11:25 PM

I'll be visiting NY this week and one of the things I'll be doing is going to a comedy show at 200 Hudson St. I was hoping I could get some suggestions for where to dine in that area. I'm open to all types of foods and looking for something in the low/mid-range pricing but am also open to "not to miss" type places even if they're a little bit pricier. Thanks!

    My favories in the neighorhood:
    Estancia (Argentinian/Italian)
Turks and Frogs (French/Turkish, but really just Mediterranean)
    Sora Lella (Italian)
Giorgione (Italian with a great raw bar)
    Kaña (Spanish, tapas)
    Pao (Portuguese)

couple other options in the area if you want to take a walk...
          Bar Artisanal
          Macao Trading Co.
and, for a laid back, old-new york style pub with quality food (although a little expensive), Walker's

If you go early, La Sirene has a prix fixe menu from 5-7 for $27/person. Really lovely, cozy, and delicious. Plus it's BYOB.
