Lena's Cafe in Westville Center (New Haven), CT

This cafe was just mentioned by bagelman01 as having good lunch fare. I have passed by it a thousand times, been to the gallery next door and eyed the sleazy bar (next door), from Delaney's.
What's up with it? When is it open? Not a hint from Chowhounds in New Haven... 'cept bagelman01!
Delaney's is just OK and Bella Rosa's takes forever and a day for take-out. Bella Rosa's breakfasts are great!

I've reviewed Lena's on Yelp, as have lots of New Haven eaters out. In sum, I think it pales in comparison to Bella's, or even the Pantry - I've been disappointed by both their basics and their "special" brunch-y items. The weekend service and wait are no better, and the coffee is significantly worse.

I would say, though, that the egg-white omelets my husband orders are fluffy and delicious. Haven't been there for lunch but they seem to be open until at least 2 PM or so . . .

Tongue in cheek aside, I am surprised it doesn't even register on CH before today!

Never seen them open in the evenings.

And Yelp has some helpful reviews for New Haven Korean food, too ; )
