I strongly concur. Greek Island Grille. Order the melezanosalata and hummus appetizer, and I personally am addicted to the bifteki pita bundle for my entree. Been going there for 7 years, at least twice a month and I'm always satisfied.
Plus it's got very nice service and is family run.

      2. How is the environment and decor in Greek Island Grille? Casucal or Not? What about InkaGrill, in Costa Mesa. How is the food and environment there?

It's cute, and very casual but nice. They use tablecloths, and actual plates, sometimes votive candles. eans are fine, even shorts. It's not fancy shmancy. But, despite the little quirk of ordering from the counter - let's say it adds character, it's definitely not a dump either. You can also eat outside.

Inka Grill's food is mediocre, and it's usually crowded at lunchtime during the week. Whatever you do, don't get the lomo saltado there--it's terrible. The aji de gallena is okay. Casual environment but nice enough (not dive-y).

It's fine! Of course for something in the $10-20pp range you can't expect anything more than clean and nice casual. This is definitely within your budget, the food is good, it's clean...but it is a strip mall place, no tablecloths, no view...and not the Ritz!

            2. There is going to be four of us. They might want to go somewhere nicer like the decor and environment of Habana, any recomendations that compares to that guys?

Habana is nicer, but with something to drink, tax and tip there is no way you'll get out of there for $10pp, and for a full meal, and even a beer, tax and tip you will not do it for $20. For your budget, you are definitely better off going to the Greek Island Grille, but don't expect fancy...the atmosphere is like a strip mall fast food restaurant, but the food is very good!

It's much nicer than a strip mall fast food joint. If you didn't have to order from a counter and fill your own soda, it would be considered a nice little cafe. But I agree, for the stated budget, you can't do any better than Greek Island Grille.

Agree...maybe I was downplaying the atmosphere at the GIC which I like very much. The fact that it is quite bright, has no tablecloths, and has very simple decor made me say what I did. Nevertheless for the OP's budget, they cannot do better than the GIC!!

Avo's Bistro on Alton in Costa Mesa is a nice upscale Greek restaurant. It's across the street from TGIFridays that's next to South Coast Plaza. I've eaten there a few times and the food was very good and they had a nice selection of Greek wines.

I like the Greek Island Grill better, and I think (but I'm not sure) that it's less expensive. Check out:

Wasn't the OP asking for something more upscale than Greek Island Grill? I think Avo's is an excellent suggestion for good food and a nice atmosphere.

Although I agree that Avo's is more upscale than the Greek Island Grill, I personally like the food better at the GIG (but that's just my opinion), and I think it is definitely less expensive. Since cost is clearly an issue for the OP (they are looking for something in the $10-20 range), I think that the GIG is a better choice.

Avo's on Bristol is closed. He moved to Huntington Beach, on Warner near Talbert. The atmosphere in Avo's HB location is pretty similar to that of Greek Island Grille, nothing fancy and in a strip mall
