Q Haute promotion

Jasz Jul 24, 2009 11:58 AM

I heard a radio ad today that Q Haute is having a pay-what-you-want promotion this weekend (July 24-26) with reservations required. Is anyone planning on going?

Q Haute - I have eaten there twice now. Great service. Very nice food. They are not quite in the same league as the elite (Rush, Chef's Table) BUT they make fine food and have good attention to deatil. Some very unique things and definately worth a try. The pay what you want is a good way to experience the restaurant. They won't need these promotions once business picks up. The view is very nice and romantic too.

Not being a Calgarian I am not sure what Q Haute is. Is it the restaurant in the location that was formerly La Caille? I walk my dogs down the river walk when visiting Calgary and have seen the restaurant but not tried it as we tend to frequent the save spots, i.e. River, Divino, Capo etc..

Bob Mac, you are correct. Q Haute is in the location that was formerly La Caille. Here is their website:

I haven't tried it yet. It's been there for at least a couple of years now. Back 10 years ago, I used to go to La Caille all the time for special occasions and such as the restaurant has such a great view. But now with the dining scene having changed so much in recent years in Calgary, there are so many choices now.

Read this at JG's column this morning: If you have a B-Day or a Wedding Anniv in Aug (and can prove it), you get one free entree at Q during Aug.

My partner and I married Aug 8 2003 (fun fact: we were the first AB same sex couple to be married in Ottawa; we did it spur of the moment because we had no expectation that it'd be legal in AB in less than two years from then but I digress), but now to dig up the licence....
