I'm meeting a friend there next week, and my mind is drawing a blank decent restaurants. I don't want to go to Tik Talk. Any suggestions? It doesn't have to be exactly there, but in the area within 10 minutes or so.
I'd walk down Harbord to Brunswick and have coffee and a sweet at Dessert Trends (DT Bistro).
I like Chabichou at Harbord & Borden (few blocks west of Spadina) for coffee, pastries and sandwiches. I had a great eclair there not long ago...
(edited to add: not much seating is available, just a few small tables I believe)
I really like Aroma, good coffees and good salad/sandwiches too. it's on bloor, 1 block east of bathurst, prob around a 10min walk...
