Patacón ?

I'm intrigued by this New York Times article and wondering if this Venezuelan plantain sandwich can be found in LA?

    1. Perla del Pacifico has the best patacon, but it comes as a side. You won't be disappointed because it is delicious.Get some to go and make yourself a sandwich.

Cafe Bolivar and Coupa Cafe, the two venezolano places I know do not serve patacon sandwiches, just arepas, which in Venezuela are stuffed.Colombians eat patacones and arepas like bread with a meal.
