I need a good place for breakfast along I-81 between Harrisburg and Winchester

Driving to Fla. in Aug. and need a good place for the 6 of us to get breakfast and strech (about 4-5 hrs. in to our drive) and would like some place local, not the usual Waffle House or Cracker Barrel. Any opinions?

  1. Fay's Country Kitchen in Carlisle, PA on I 81 about 20 miles south of Harrisburg - right on the main drag off of the Hanover St exit in Carlisle, it's at the corner of Hanover St and South St. Old homestyle country breakfasts, cash only, very inexpensive, don't take reservations, coffee isn't great though so if you're coffee drinkers, either stop at Panera Bread on your way (also right off the exit) or drive a few extra blocks to Casa Mani, local coffee shop with owners who apprenticed in Italy, it's on the corner of High St and Pitt St. You can take your coffee into Fay's then to have with breakfast.

I went to Fay's. I live in Carlisle. The food is small portions, and bland. There is nothing special on the menu. The coca-cola atmosphere is cool. But I would not recommend anyone getting off the highway for that place. CRAP
