Terranea - Pick/Delivery Food Options
I haven't read too many encouraging reviews reguarding the restaurants at Terranea. We are going with the kids so upscale dining is not an option. Can anyone recommend a place that would deliver pizza or some close restaurants or even grocery stores that we can pick up food.
There is a Trader Joe's in Redondo Beach also a Bristol Farms. There are several casual restaurantrs in this area. South of Terranea in San Pedro on Western is Sorrentos, they have excellent pizza and sandwhiches, no delivery. Get some sami's and head for the tidepools, nice way to spend the day. For a great breakfast, Pacific Diner in San Pedro is a must GO EARLY. The Pancake House is another must and get there early too!

You might be interested in Pavich's Pizzeria. About 6.5 miles from your resort in San Pedro. Take a look at the place link and scroll down to read some recent reviews. I don't think they do delivery though so this would be pick up and bring back or take down to the beach to eat.

Personally, I think part of the appeal of going someplace like Terranea is never having or wanting to leave or even deal with the outside world while you're there and fortunately the food there is good enough that I don't think you'd regret it.
I've eaten at all of the restos at Terranea except for Marsel, and thought the food was generally good with a few very good dishes and the pricing was reasonable. The weekend breakfast/brunch buffets are a particularly good deal (I think $24/person) because kids eat for free (either that or they neglected to charge me for my kids on any of my 3 brunches there) and they offer a kids dinner buffet (pizza, quesadilla's, mac n cheese, chicken fingers) at the main restaurant (don't remember the name but it's the one in the main building - not Marsel). Nelson's, which is really a beachy gastro-pub, is great - terrific buttermilk jerk fried chicken, fish n chips, etc., and unbeatable views, especially if you sit outside.
The only outright bad dish I had was the fried calamari at the main restaurant - good, reasonably light batter, but way overcooked so the meat was tough and rubbery. In general, the baked goods throughout the resort were excellent - very good pastries and deserts.
i agree , but if you must , then go to the palos verdes peninsula center ...(6 miles away....terranea is in the palos verdes peninsula).....ask the concierge for directions....... this is a village square type center not like a food court in a shopping mall .....there is a taco bell and a burger king....no mcdonald's or jack in the box but................for mexican, try the red onion........ an italian deli ' the appetizer' , next to the library good pizza and cold cut sandwiches, hot italian meals................'pho hana', a uniquely funky decor (you'll know what i mean) pho/vietnamese food but the good news is the food is good if you like vietnamese!.....there is a mexican restaurant next door but i cant remember the name....lastly fu yuan low an old school chinese restaurant........all these places will accomodate the kids....... there are other places but you might start with these and decide on the others as you see fit.
