Dominiques Sweets at Wednesday Night Market, Santa Rosa

Based on a recent P.D. report and a friend's request I stopped by Ms. Dominique's stand today at the Wednesday night Market in Santa Rosa.

I bought boxes of 6 each French Macaroons (AKA Macarons) (for $9), including these flavors:

Aloha – coconut macarons with a pineapple filling

Mai’a – banana, caramel filled macaron

Lemon

Bittersweet chocolate

Caramel

Rose

I haven't dived in to all of them yet, but the bittersweet chocolate I had a bite of was delicious. Dominque was very friendly, and is apparently working with the Rendevous Cafe (4th Street in Santa Rosa) to see if they will start carrying her product line. I have high hopes for this lady, and want her to succeed. She was very, very nice.

Anyway, get out there and try for yourself!

  1. Ok, so this AM (what other time to try these!) I tried the lemon and the Mai'a.

I don't have a particular sweet tooth, so the 1/4 of the Mai'a I had was just enough. The caramel flavor was delicious with the banana.

The lemon was just what it should be, light, airy, lemony (in a curd sorta way).

Anyway, the three I have tried were all great!

Thanks for the report. I was just looking at her website recently. She is supposed to be doing something with Gravenstein apples this month.
