New Trendy OC Restaurant?
Looking to have a girl's night out this next Thurs. We are looking for a restaurant with good food and cocktails.. pretty open in terms of cuisine.. don't want to resort to Javiers or Wildfish ... Some of the girls are single and prefer a place that where they can "mingle". I would say overall 60% food 40% ambience. No steak houses... Any help would be greatly appreciated.

For a more artsy, beatnik cool hipster scene there's the Artist Village in Santa Ana. I like Lola Gaspar and you can walk around and make it over Crosby, Memphis, or Gypsy Den. You won't find corporate types or sugar daddies in this area though. Some girlfriends and I were approached by a guy asking if we were "cruising" at Las Brisas one time while in the bar area. Food ok there, fantastic view. Now that I think about it, Code at least for decor and ambiance might fit the bill too.

It just opened and haven't been, but the newest restaurant to open that might fit the bill would be Sol Cocina in Newport Beach. It is right next door to 3-thirty-3 on PCH and Bayside.
