Hanna's in Rancho Sant Marg?

  • 3

Someone was just telling me how much they enjoy Hanna's Bar & Restaurant in Rancho Santa Margarita. I have never heard of this place before. Has any CH been there, and what do you think?

  1. I wish I could help but I didn't even know Hannah's was there. We moved from Mission Viejo to San Clemente about 5 years ago and, though, we still have many friends in the area, have never heard of this place. What I've found online (just looking to see exactly where it is) seems positive.

I don't know how much you view this board but don't be too disappointed if you get little or no response on this. Besides the lack of great chow spots south of "The Y", there's also very little board activity this far South.

    1. Gurlfren works in Rancho and has been to Hanna's a couple times. While I haven't been myself, she says it's mostly unexciting, food wise. She describes the atmosphere as similar to Opah, if you are familiar with that now-closed RSM location. The menu is sorta like Opah, sorta like Houston's - how shall I cubbyhole - contemporary Californian / New American cuisine. More specific to Hanna's, it's a mix of unchallenging meat & potatoes dishes and turn of the century restaurant cliches like an ahi tuna stack. She says it's way overpriced for what you get.

The Whiteout Cosmo is recommended, though, made with white cranberry juice (how you get white cranberry juice is beyond me, but whatever). Also, there is ample parking behind the place that not too many people seem to know about.

      1. Well I haven't been either, and my info is from afield than a significant other, but I have heard from locals that Hanna's cocktails are great.

(Same informants suspiciously silent on the food, however.)
