Tips for Dining, Eating, and Food Shopping in Manhattan

smoked fish to stay not take out

Zucker's was a find. They have many of the same varieties of smoked salmon that Russ and Daughter's has. From Wild Pacific, to Gaspay, to pastrami salmon ,,,, Their sturgeon was a bit dry ,,but the smoked salmon is excellent and I have to say as good as Russ and Daughters. The good thing about Zucker's is you can eat at a table there,, you can get it on a bagle or a bialy ,, or even a plate with lemon and capers. Its not cheap . Pickled herring runs abut $2.75 a fillet. I forget but i think the salmon sandwich was abut $15 with cream cheese tomato and onion and capers,,, had to throw in the capers. Its on Chambers St in Tribeca
