Blueberry pie in the SFV

I remember from my childhood that the best pie was home made blueberry. Well even the fresh blueberries at the market seem to lack that special flavor. As for finding the pie, forget it.

If anyone has any suggestions as to where to find a sweet, generous, flavorful, moist blueberry pie I would be forever indebted.

hiya... The blueberry pie at the Coffee Table is truly worthy! I believe they are supplied by Sweet Lady Jane (boo!), but I'm more than happy to eat it at the Coffee Table. The location I go to is near Atwater Village, but I believe there's another Coffee Table location somewhere in the Valley. The pie is tall/deep, not too sweet, and the crust is nicely flakey...

I checked and there doesn't seem to be a Coffee Table. But I will drop in to Millie's, as it's close to my neighborhood. Four n 20 seems to have disappeared and the only DuPar's I know was in Studio City I think, a bit far; I wonder if they have it without the cream cheese.

There's a 4 n 20 on Van Nuys Blvd. just south of Burbank Blvd. in Sherman Oaks.

My neck of the woods, however, never been there.

Seem to recall decent, but not spectacular, reviews of the place here on these boards.

Not exactly what you are asking for but I have a soft spot for Du Par's blueberry cream cheese pie. As a kid (over 35 years ago) there was always at least one brought for every extended family gathering.

I can only suggest MIllies Restaurant. Yes I know it's chain but they have darned good pies which are often overlooked. BTW I guarantee their onion rings anytime.
