We went last summer and had a ball. There are a bunch of vendors set up selling food (we actually ran into people from a place in Philly that we had been to) and then there are the people who are competing (you can't buy from them) but you can walk around and see what they are doing and talk to them. All the vendors were offering different items, different sized plates, different prices - so that part is hard to say. There was also a fried pickle truck - just awesome. Then there was a row of vendors of all sorts of other things -- smokers/bbqs, sauces/rubs, wines, all sorts of stuff. There were bands playing in a big tent.
Anyway ... we thought it was worth it.

I am a judge there, great family atmosphere, long lines at the vendors, I have heard the food is good.
