  1. The Vietnamese food courts in the Lion Center and Grand Century malls, My Khe Quan Hue, Habana Cuba, Chinjin. More ideas:

You'd do better to skip the garlic festival and spend more time exploring SJ:

    Chinjin Eastern House
1530 S De Anza Blvd, San Jose, CA

    My Khe Quan Hue
960 Story Rd, San Jose, CA 95122

    Lion Tully
1710 Tully Rd, San Jose, CA

    1. Zeni. Best Ethiopian food ever.

      Turmeric. Ditto for Indian food.

Pastaria. Great reasonably priced pasta and enjoy a walk around downtown Los Gatos.

      Turmeric Restaurant
      141 S Murphy Ave, Sunnyvale, CA 94086

      Pastaria & Market
49 E Main St, Los Gatos, CA

      1. Nha Toi is great for Vietnamese. Gombei for homestyle Japanese.

460 E William St, San Jose, CA 95112

193 Jackson St, San Jose, CA 95112

        1. we ended p at Taiwan on Lincoln, for dinner on Friday night. Very, very good. Just the right flavor, nice portions, good presentation, very nice dining room and we were seated almost immediately. The ex-patriot NYer was pleasantly surprised! We have a favorite Chinese eatery in of course several in NY. There is nothing in Santa Rosa (we've tried) and Taiwan is a must to go back to.

          1. next time you should try E&O Trading company. It has a wide menu of Asian food. It isn't your typical asian restaurant though. It is a very cool atmosphere. I had a birthday party there two years ago and every single person absolutely loved it!

That's a spinoff of an SF restaurant that also has a branch in Larkspur.
