Unique specialty cake in CC

  • juice Jul 21, 2009 07:47 AM

I am looking for a pastry shop in CC that can 'build' a special cake for a themed party I am throwing early next month. I need these folks to be a little creative a think outside the box. I live East of Broad. Thanks.

  1. I hear a lot about this Whipped Bake Shop but have no clue if it's good: http://whippedbakeshop.com/

I had never heard of this place and just went to their website, but I'm a bit unclear whether they are a special order only bakery, or whether they have a storefront too. Do you happen to know? Thanks!

As far as I know they only do custom products...

That would explain the lack of address, business hour, etc. on their website. Thanks!

The stuff they make looks really good and I think they have done catering for the city for things...but don't quote me on that.

Looks like they just opened a retail location in Fishtown, as well as added some additional information to their website (see address above). I'll definitely report back if I go there and would love to hear what others think too.

That would be great! I always wondered if it tastes as good as it looks...

      3. I had a Nintendo NES controller cake made for my husband on our wedding day...this bakery not only has amazing design artists, but their cake is some of the most delicious i've ever had and so very affordable. Its called Sophisticakes and it is in Drexel Hill (just outside of the city) they also deliver. www.sophisticakespa.com.

Graziano's Desserts in Jenkintown http://www.draketavern.com/desserts.pdf and I believe that they will deliver.

I ended up going w Sophisticakes for the party. Had them make me a 40 serving Rubix Cube Cake for an 80's bday party that came out awesome. They were also 1/3 the price of The Whipped Bake Shop. I highly recommend them

            1. Thanks for the suggestions. I am currently speaking with two of the places on possibilities.
