Las Vegas: ? re Aburiya Raku

The NY Times recently had a positive write-up on Aburiya Raku, a Japanese place in the Seoul Plaza strip mall on Spring Mountain. Reported that with the severe downturn in Vegas, less exppensive and less centrally located places like this are doing well, including attracting the top chefs in Vegas who stop by at all hours after their work is done.

Any chowhounds been to this place? I'm going to Vegas later this year and would love to go here is it's outstanding. Let me know your thoughts.

Thanks.

If you use the search engine on the Southwest board you will find several threads discussing this very restaurant and the very positive reviews.

well said eric - as far as it being outstanding, that's for you to judge, but i'm sure if you even do a google search you'll find several positive reviews by so called foodie/reviewers - personally, i am a big fan after 6 visits - it's a bi-monthly visit for me.

Is Spring Mountain Road "walkable" from the strip (IE, sidewalks and safe?) It really isn't that far and I love wandering on foot - but not on the side of a major road w/o sidewalks.

It would not be a very pleasant walk, especially at the I-15 underpass. And note that Raku itself is on the west side of Decatur, which is several blocks from the beginning of the restaurant scene on Spring Mountain.
