Need quick suggestions West Hollywood/BH
I'm meeting up with someone staying in BH, so need BH adjacent West Hollywood would be great. It's for 2 mature ladies, we'd like to chat or have fun. Don't want blowout meal or too expensive just nice or interesting or chowish. Will be for 7:30 and we are both a little tired. I'm trying to do my research but busy and running out of time, so thanks for any help. I'd love to try A.O.C. or something like that but it looks a little far.
How about Mako in BH on Beverly Dr.? Pretty eclectic menu, somewhat upscale but won't break the bank.

How long a drive do you estimate? It looks like it may fall through completely, or now turn into drink or drink and small bite at 9PM. No sushi was her only request, but she suggested she really likes West Hollywood.
Thanks for all the suggestions peeps.

That's pretty open. I would probably head to Sawtelle and Nanbankan.
I doubt too many of us consider AOC too far from BH though.

opps meant to reply to you re how many minutes estimated drive. She wants a short drive only as she has been up after 1 for 3 nights in a row and we are not spring chickens.

Enoteca Drago might work well for your needs.

Thanks, that looks about right, can order small plates, yes? Well the plans are changing and have to be left open, as now I am heading in with a friend and we will see if she calls or not. So we just are taking these suggestions and being flexible. She would really like to go to West Hollywood if she is up to coming out.

Thanks for the quick help and suggestions. It ended up being a late evening because of the traveller needing a nap. So we did a drink at the Mosaic hotel, then looked for a place to eat. Enoteca Drago was closed at 10 or before and said everything around is closed. A.O.C. would have been do-able, didn't realize it was so close, but closed. Mozza was open until midnight, I think both sides. We ate on the Pizza side and had a simple and wonderful meal. But rich and complex flavors, so maybe not so simple. I can't decide.
Eggplant Caponata - chunky but silky and just great balance to the sweet/savory profile
Mussels - deep flavor, lots of garlic, succulent
Asparagus w/ speck and Parm - nice, again lots of flavor, rich
Pizza with salami and fresno peppers - fantastic, the crust is amazing, almost like custard inside the unsauced edge but super blistered and chewy outside.
good breadsticks and good garlic toast with the mussels. but why are places always so stingy on the toasts?
The service was great, really unobtrusive and they just ran with it when we didn't know what wine to order but described what we liked, and that was for 2 different people and they picked well. Front desk was especially nice to us hungry people in a crowded room. They couldn't get a reservation for us on the phone until quite late, but they said they would get us seated asap when we walked in and said we were hungry and they did do it. He was like a wizard because there were no seats in the house and he magic'd 3 in a row at the counter instantly.
It was a treat to eat food that was clearly envisioned to be a certain way and carried out perfectly. (and I don't mean that in a macdonalds way.) Clearly I don't get out enought anymore.
We would have liked to try more but that was a good start and it was too late to eat heavily. At least I knocked one off the list of places I've wanted to check out.
