Chili My Soul- Closed Indefinitely

The sign on the door says that due to personal tragedy (the owner died i think?), the shop would be closed for an indefinite period of time. Seems like it must have happened a little while ago as the memorial service was in June, but I had not seen this mentioned on this board.

So sad to hear this. I was just craving Chili My Soul, and went to the website to see what they were offering today. I'm really sorry to hear about Randy's passing. Although I didn't know him, he created something unique--and delicious.

I caught a recent episode of the Food Network's "Chefs vs City," and they were at Chili My Soul... I hadn't read the news, so I was shocked when I drove out to it today! The "Chili My Soul" signs are all still up, the 2 tvs are still mounted, and there's a glass case with hot sauce in it. Does anyone have a happy update for me, or are all of those amazing recipes gone? How very sad if the owner's passing also means the end of his legacy! (Randy's family - please share the recipes at the very least!! Better yet, reopen!!)

      from their website:

"The restaurant will be closed due to personal circumstances, for more information please contact the restaurant by phone or email, and someone will get back to you. Thank you. "

Here is a blog that mentions Randy passing: http://familyoffood.blogspot.com/2009...

That is a very sad news. Randy was a true 'hound. I know people objected to the prices at Chili My Soul, but Randy created a unique restaurant that was the type of place these boards were designed to identify.
