New Bistro in Mount Kisco

I walked by the other day and I saw that the place was finally getting there. It's going to be called FAB.....French American Bistro. It' across the street from The Fish Cellar next to Tiger Schulmans. Anyone know the scoop of the opening???

  1. I just noticed they finally have the sign up but haven't heard a thing.

    1. They just opened this weekend. My in-laws went and LOVED the food (and they are picky). The interior is beautiful, you can see they put their heart into it. I wish them luck!

      2. I walked by FAB last night, they are indeed open and had their menu outside. It looked good but a bit pricey ($27.95 for a meal, etc.). Nothing for non-meat eaters like my husband and myself but the atmosphere looked quite cozy.

        1. I walked by the other night to check it out and it looked nice. You're right there aren't any vegeterian dishes on the menu and there are plenty of vegetables and salads so I'm sure anyone could find something they like. The filet mignon I did see at 27.95 but I think that was the most expensive dish. I did see a hanger steak 22.95 I think and there are plenty of appetizers under $10! Can't wait to try this one and will let you know when I do.

                I went on two occasions this past weekend. My girlfriend and I had brunch there last Saturday. I ordered the steak eggs and she had the smoked salmon platter. The food was just ok, the steak was nowhere near as rare as I wanted despite my emphasis to the waiter, but I did not send it back. I always have a fear cooks will spit on the food the second time around. Then I had a butter-sugar crepe with coffee while she had the sugar-lemon. Really nothing great for a 50 dollars check.
                The dinner was even worse. I ordered the salad nicoise which wasn't that good. And my friends had the duck confit and FAB spring salad both had asked for the dressing on the side. And both came with the dressing on it. Apparently the beets and the beans in the salad tasted horrible and the vinaigrette did not go too well with the duck confit. We also ordered the grilled short ribs and tuna tartare sliders. The tuna tartare did not taste fresh but the short ribs were alright. As for main dishes I had the half grilled organic chicken which was extremely dry. My friends had the cadillac burger and the seared filet mignon which were both more well done to their likely.
                I expected better from the decor of the restaurant. It is also new so they should be on top of their customer's requests.

                  I haven't been there personally but my aunt said that it is way over priced for the quality you get.
