Brunch in Alexandria on Sunday

  • 5

Looking for some good bets for brunch (affordable please) in the Alexandria area for tomorrow. Doesnt have to be classic brunch...any ethnic cuisine with a weekend brunch type menu would also be fine.

  1. Overwood on Lee Street does a combo ala carte and buffet for brunch that's very nice, and I think you can get reservations. I usually go with the ala carte menu there, mostly because I'd wayyyy overeat on the buffet. Evening Star Cafe on Del Ray is good (but don't get the cheese grits, they're a miss -- cheese grits at Del Merei are great, haven't been as impressed the last two times with the rest of the menu). I haven't tried any of the ethnic cuisine brunches in the Old Town/Del Ray areas.

    1. I like Vermilion for brunch, but you will have to look and see if it qualifies as affordable to you.

      1. I have always enjoy Mango Mike's Sunday brunch. Great space, the steel drums work for me, and the bottomless mimosas suit me perfectly. Certainly very affordable at under $20. And I like the numerous stations (omelet, waffles, etc).

All the breakfast basics. Not much of note outside of the basics. Usually, the noise level is such that you can enjoy your company. Always a nice bonus.

I think I need to return again soon. It's been too long (couple of months).

        1. Way late to the party, but Bastille in Old town has a good brunch, and nice when you get to sit outside.

          1. Way late but figure others may be interested...we like to do brunch at Chadwicks in Old Town down near the water. Its quite affordable, generous mimosas.
