Downtown in Berkeley

I noticed yesterday that there is a sign they are closed for remodeling, open again after Labor Day. Anyone know if this is true or just a euphemism for closed for good? If they are going to reopen, any plans to change the concept or menu?

Or plans to raise the quality of food to equal the prices?
Everyone I know says "went there once, ok but not all it thinks it is, not going again".
It's far too good a location.
