Tips for Dining, Eating, and Food Shopping in Washington, Oregon and Alaska (exc. Seattle and Portland)

For you cured meat fanatics in Seattle-

George's Sausage and Deli on Madison. Just East of 9th (907 Madison I think)

Little polish/ Central european cured meat shop. I had a Grilled Kielbasa Sandwich and it was fantastic. They have more cured meats that I could name, and I'm a pretty serious fan. He make most of he stuff in the back of the store, and the counter is staffed by sturdy central european women. It's take out only, but It's also around $5 for a sandwich.

Can't believe I've never heard of it. The quality is close to that of salumi, minus the crowds and the attitudes, but definitely more central european.

Also has lots of Polish Beer, Wine, and it looked like mead. It's got a lot of Eastern european packaged foods, lots of sweets and pickles and stuff, including caviar.
