Sat lunch en route to MSY

I am coming from down South to drop someone at the airport for a two o'clock flight on Saturday and wanted to have a good lunch on the way; my experience is with NOLA proper only so I thought it might be fun to hit a special place between there and the airport. Any recommendations for a can't miss meal? It can be fancy or a dive. Thanks.

  1. in Old Jeff/Harahan area, you have Crabby Jack's on Jeff Hwy, Rivershack Tavern on River Rd., Charlie's Seafood (reopened by Frank Brigtsen) on Jeff Hwy, and RiverPond Seafood on Airline Hwy.
all have great food and are casual.

For an early lunch, I was going to list your first two places, but you were way ahead of me.

Now, Charlies is part of Chef Frank's empire? Why, I recall it from the '60s, and it was a favorite of my wife's family, after they moved to The Parish. Last time past, it looked closed.

      Thanks for the info,
