Where to get a Veal Parm Sub in Portland?

A new co-worker of mine has just moved here from New York and is having a difficult time finding a “veal parm sub”. She tells me you can get these ANYWHERE around New York - even in really casual establishments. Does anyone know of a place in or around Portland where I can direct her to?

If you know of a flexible place with veal parm on the menu, that will allow her to pay extra for them to put it on a sub, that would work, too. Thanks in advance!

The closest you'll come is the eggplant and chicken parm subs at Tribute's on NW Kearney. That is still one of my overall favorite sandwich places in Portland even with the recent advent of Bunk, etc.

I'm still looking myself. Veal seems to be a rare commodity around here. I don't know why. I have been to Mama Mia's for Veal too. It was overpriced and poorly made. Tough and chewy.

If ya find a decent Italian deli let me know too. ;-} Italiain Bakery? Foget about it!

It's hard to find a place with decent veal of any kind around here. Last place I had decent veal parm (not a sub, an entree) was Mama Mia's Trattoria downtown.

For lunch they have a chicken parm sandwich, but the veal parm is only on the dinner menu as an entree. They might make your friend a veal parm for lunch...doesn't hurt to ask.
