Haven't tried the other 2, but Shake Shack fits your description to a tee.

I haven't been to Bobby's but if you want really casual then definitely Shake Shack.

        Has Bobby's opened yet?

just say no to DBGB. i had an HB Burger earlier this week and was shocked as to how good it was... figured anything associated with and tied to Heartland Brewery would be terrible but it was actually a really phenomenal burger.

Man, HB Burger has been on my list for months now! Have a meeting in the BofA tower next week, and just may have to hit it up. Tell me more about your experience!

Pardon my innocence but where is HB?

43 St (Broadway/6 Av). From the Heartland Brewery chain; replaced Spanky's BBQ earlier this year.

Thanks! have been away from Chowhound for awhile. Nice to be back. BTW I tried the Pat La Frieda Fresh Direct burgers and cooked them myself, topped with gorgonzola. It was great.

Haven't seen many great reviews on Bobby Flay's burgers and the local paper up here in Ct. just gave him a big thumbs down for his new place at one of the casinos. Stick with Shake Shack!

Shake Shack, Shake Shack, Shake Shack. Wonderful burgers. Did I say wonderful? The tastiest that I ever had! I have had a lot! GREAT location! (the one located in beautiful Madison Square Park) and fresh beef! (well, I guess that is why the burgers are soooo tasty).

I also love their fries (though others might disagree) and their shakes/custard is amazing!

Shake Shack it is! I am convinced.

Burger Creations was pretty solid when I went. Seemed like good quality beef. Very very low key type of place. Lots of delicious varieties. Pretty cheap.

I'll be making a blog post (including pictures) soon at www.winstongfx.com/foodventure

black iron is definitely solid, not as good as royale which is my favorite burger in the east village.

Steakrules - at Rare Did you have a steakhouse burger or a regular burger?

The steakhouse sounds great but $21 is a lot for a burger.

Steakhouse burger of course. It was huge and I had the t-bone burger. Believe me it was worth the price. And their fries basket is awesome too- especially the waffle fries and sweet potato fries. If you have some friends with you get it - Comes with three dipping sauces. Onion rings are also great. I also sampled the stuffed kobe burger that my dad ordered and it was also delicious. Didn't have room for dessert, but I heard they have some great ones. (deep fried oreo sundae or something to that effect)
