Searching for a good restaurant
I guess I should claify that the reviews are from boards like this one, here's an example from this board.... http://chowhound.chow.com/topics/616990
overall the food seems to be consistenly good, there were some complaints about the service and yes, the parking stinks.
There is also a steak place up in Mahopac that is pretty good, I think the name of it Hanolan's or something like that, maybe someone can verify the name.
grew up in Mahopac and along with below recos, also consider the many golf clubs, the area has numerous outrageously scenic spots for special events.

The Arch, Route 22 North, Brewster; (845) 279-5011 "05/2009 Seriously good: Haute cuisine--tres haute--on route 22. Serious food at serious prices. This would rate as a fine restaurant in the City. Here, it's off the charts. Unless you're loaded, this is a special occasion restaurant that is always more than up to the occasion."
Peter Pratt's Inn, 673 Croton Heights Road, off Route 118, Yorktown Heights
'country inn with exceptional food...downstairs cozy pub'
Filia's (formerly Capriccio's) 1250 Rte. 22N Brewster, NY; beautiful stone patio, romantic lakeside woods setting
2009 Best place for a party, Westchester Magazine
Travelers Rest, Ossining NY; Continental restaurant with a charming space surrounded by waterfalls and gardens.
-good escargot; sidenote, recently learned how escargot are 'raised', with fasting, cleansing, pure diet of herbs or dry grains; cleaner than the shellfish I love
Equus, This fairy-tale castle is actually real, a former Gatsby-era estate perched high on a secluded Tarrytown hilltop
Le Chateau This magnificent South Salem Tudor pile owes its fantasy to history—like Castle on the Hudson, it once was one of Westchester’s noble estates.
Bird & Bottle Inn 1123 Old Albany Post Rd. Garrison, NY
not sure if it's open; MOONSTONE ON LONG POND 708 Long Pond Road Mahopac (845) 621-1585
the thing I love about westchester dining besides the food, is that there are so many mansions/castles/estates for special events; even after eating my way across half the world, it is the best region for sophisticated yet charming, civilized elegant ambiance;
