Vegetarian options in Gravenhurst

I will be attending a friends wedding this weekend in Gravenhurst. I have searched for vegetarian restaurants in the area and have had no luck. Any veggie options that are close by and that aren't the big chains, would be fantastic.

Thank you!

  1. Unfortunately, most of the restaurants up there are old-fashioned "fine-dining" places that serve a lot of fish and meats. That being said, most have at least some vegetarian options on the menu like pastas, salads, grilled portobello mushrooms, etc... If you eat fish, you have a wide range of options.

On Muskoka Wharf, there is the Sunset Grill which is part of the Toronto chain. It offers all day breakfast so has a lot of veggie items (omelettes, French toast, pancakes, waffles).

Also, I am sure that Taboo Resort (which has 4 or 5 restaurants with a range of cuisine & prices) can accommodate vegetarian diets. Their casual outdoor restaurant overlooks the lake and has many salads.

There is a new place opening this summer in Bracebridge but I am not sure when exactly. It's called One Fifty Five. You can contact them at (705) 645-1935. They offer "French Cuisine with a Mediterranean flair at reasonable prices with herbs and vegetables are harvested from "one fifty five's" own farm garden". From their description, it sounds as though they may be veggie friendly.

I haven't been (yet), but there is a place called 3 Guys and a Stove in Huntsville with many veggie options, but it's about 40 minutes north of Gravenhurst.

There is an excellent bakery on Brock St. (across the Giant Tiger), called simply, "The Bakery". They have some outstanding fruit pies, Chelsea buns, apple fritters, scones, squares... Definitely worth stopping in.

There are some great roadside stands that sell berries, fruit, and vegetables from local farmers. They have really fabulous wild blueberries, carrots and other produce from local farmers and some sell preserves and pies.

Hope this helps and that you have a nice time. Gravenhurst is a sweet little place.
