Mosaic Cafe in Northampton
Anyone been there? I ran into a friend that said it was pretty good, but I haven't seen any reviews yet.

I've eaten there numerous times and been quite happy with the quality and the taste of the food. I like more adventurous offerings such as the sardine sandwich and casablanca pizza with anchovies. Both are delicious and seasoned well. The veggie stew was tasty and homey, just the thing for me when I'm not feeling so well. The fish version is equally good as well. The salads are not super creative but no worse than anywhere else in the Valley for the price. My friends had their chicken and lamb dishes and raved about them. The price is very reasonable, and it is BYOB!

I'll second the pretty good, give them a try.
I've been twice, the salad I had was not a strong point - under-dressed, lettuce on the tough side, just not great. Crepes seem to be the real winning item here, along with a line of Amanouz-y stews (same owners). The taste I had of a friends chicken stew was excellent.

I went recently. The atmosphere is lovely. Sat outside in the front porch area (also nice back porch). Our salad was ample tasty and well dressed with a mess of olives. The crepe was nearly a full meal for $6.95 and just fine. I had chicken stew and found it bland, way underspiced and boring, very much unlike their flavorful counterparts at Amanouz.

re: Big Fat Moe
Funny you liked the stew and not the salad and me vice versa. Maybe we can chalk it up to typical inconsistencies for a new place working out the kinks? I only had a bite of the stew, so I can't say too much about it, but my friend who ordered it generally has impeccable taste and liked it a lot.

Although, didn't the Amanouz guys have a place in that same location before both Local Burger and Fire Cuisine, and didn't that place serve crepes?
I'm foggy on the name and on whether crepes were served, but I'm pretty sure there was an Amanouz spin off there for a while with a slightly more Euro menu.
