I only discovered crumpets a few years ago and they are my favorite type of breakfast bread, now. Unfortunately, they're almost impossible to find. The only place that I know has them on a consistent basis is Trader Joes. They sell them in these vacuum-sealed four packs. Once you put them in the toaster, they're delicious.

I would be delighted to find any place that made fresh crumpets, but I don't think there will be too many. I researched the recipes and they appear to be labor-intensive, since they are essentially griddle cakes.

    Good luck!
