business lunch recs needed

staying at Marriott Wardman Park hotel next monday and need restaurant suggestions for a business lunch that is not a "power lunch" spot, but offers good food, service and the ability to have a conversation among 3 people. Preferably american, but could be italian or contemporary or eclectic menu. Recs appreciated.

Not far from Woodley Park in Adams Morgan is Cashion's Eat Place. I'm not 100% sure they are open for lunch, but if they are that would be a good spot.

Petit Plats would probably be the best choice directly in Woodley Park. I wouldn't go to Open City for a business lunch, even if you are not looking for a "power lunch" spot. They food is good enough but the tables are close together and it can be loud...other times the service can be nonexistent.

A short cab ride away will take you to Dupont Circle. You can check out Sette Osteria for Italian and nice outdoor seating.

I'd recommend the Lebanese Taverna -- I think it meets your qualifications, except for the type of food. If you could do Mediterranean food, I think it's your best shot.

There are not many "power lunch" spots in Woodley. How about Open City?

Are you looking for something right in Woodley Park? If so, from my recollection, the best lunch may be Petit Plats, a French place. New Heights is excellent, but not open for lunch. The only other sit-down lunch I can really think of is Open City, and that is way too casual for you. If you are willing to leave the neighborhood, let us know.

Then a pretty quick drive down CT would take you to Tabard Inn, which would be just great for a business lunch.
