Pod- Tuna Hand Roll...
All I have to say is blech that was the worst sushi ever. I've liked some sushi from Pod (it's work convenient and when it's on the expense account I won't turn it down for lunch) but I do feel like the place isn't quite as good as previously. Or it lost its novelty to me.
Either way, I'm curious about others' opinions on this dish.. I'm not sure if I simply don't like hand roll sushi (quite possible) or if it was that I didn't like it from Pod...
What didn't you like about it? The taste? The texture? I like some hand rolls - salmon skin is my preference - but I think in general people do too much to sushi, and hand rolls can edge into that area if you're not careful.
If you're not sure I'm going to guess you're not a fan of hand rolls...I'm not either, there's just too much nori for my taste (not that I don't like nori, but too much gets in the way of the fish). I eat at Pod fairly frequently and rarely have bad sushi there...
I love the taste of the spicy scallop hand roll, but have also stopped ordering b/c too much nori. It's more the texture than the flavor - gets soggy in 60 seconds it seems like. I hate to be picky but true. I've gotten to where I order salad w/ whatever kinda handroll I'm feelin'
