Looking for a classy restaurant for 12 teenagers

I am looking for a good restaurant for my daughter, who will be celebrating her 17th birthday soon. Since we did not have a sweet sixteen, we would like to make a small party in a nice restaurant , preferably, but not limited to Brooklyn. Manhattan would be our second choice. Italian or continental food with a cool atmosphere, even al fresco would be nice. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

How about Five Front in Dumbo? It's cool enough for teenagers, and they have a beautiful back garden with seating that would work if the weather cooperates. Food is American bistro style. They have a good burger and wonderful fries, too.

My first thought was also Five Front, so I definitely agree it should be on the list. Another one I would add is Convivium--their wine cellar is pretty unique, and also have lovely outdoor space.

The garden at Frannys sounds great for this, and I have seen it rented out for other parties.

I think you need to arrange a special menu, but I think Frankie's Spuntino fits the bill.
