Saturday early dinner - Downtown

We are going to see Coldplay on Saturday night at Home Depot Center - but will be in El Monte during the day so thought we could stop someplace downtown for an early dinner on the way to the show. First thought was Church & State, but they don't open till 6 pm. Need to find someplace that is open around 4-5'ish. Someplace chill and fun but, of course, with great food. Considering Corkbar. Any thoughts/suggestions?

How about Drago Centro, at 525 S. Flower? They start serving dinner at 5:30.

Thanks! Drago Centro crossed my mind also, but I thought 5:30 might be pushing it since we didn't want to have to rush. But it is definitely still an option.

May be too chill for you (in comparison to Church & State) but there's a cool new-ish sausage and beer joint in the arts district called Wurstkuche which serves straight through.

Also, across the street from Church & State is an English pub style joint called Royal Clayton's which starts serving at 4:00 on Saturdays. Again, very casual but a fun spot.

How about Rivera? They open for dinner at 5:30 p.m. on Saturdays.
