I know it's an odd request, but has anyone seen big bottles of cider around? Ideally in the North Cambridge/Porter Square parts of the universe...

  1. I can't report any sightings but if you haven't already I would suggest checking Liquor World in Porter or Downtown Wine and Spirits in Davis Square.

Farnum Hill in NH is making some nice cider worth checking out.

Success! Liquor World had Magner's in their fridge. I'll definitely have to check out some of the local cider--did you know that Magner's has artificial coloring? It was for my gluten-intolerant wife, so I don't judge, but...blech.

    2. Try the Wine Cask in Somerville (Kirkland & Beacon Streets and not too far from Porter Square). I have definitely seen the larger bottles of Magner's there (maybe 1L size). Plus they have a pretty good selection of other ciders as well including a number of the West County ciders.

I was just there for the first time yesterday; they seem to have a whole cider 'room'...

      2. There is an excellent selection of ciders at Liquor World in Porter Sq. In terms of local products, they carry West County & Farnum Hill, and they also carry a few european ciders, including a nice tart Basque cider. All in 750 ml (wine/champagne-style) bottle.

Oops, just saw the post above -- sorry! But here's a confirmed sighting.
