I was there in March and it hasn't changed. If you liked it then you'll still like it. On the higher end Marinus (not really in Carmel) has always pleased. The time or two I've been to Pacific's Edge have been almost as good but also not actually in Carmel, either. I was at Auberge Carmel last March, too. The food was absolutely fabulous. The service was so slow at first that we almost left. It picked up and was fine after that it was clear we were annoyed. The wine pairings with the courses were very good pairings but I'm not sure it was anything close to a decent value. I'd probably bring my own or order from the list next time. I'll go back. It is high end expensive.
Also had good luck at Grasings for several lunches and a dinner or two in Carmel. Big fan of Fandango in Pacific Grove, too.
