I can never find a great variety of natural foods at Sobey's or Atlantic Superstore. I am looking for a grocer that carries a wide selection of natural foods, not necessarily organic but foods free of preservatives and such. I am aware of Petes Frootique; How about Planet Organic in Halifax - any comment on that store? Is there a better choice out there?

Do you mean packaged foods rather than produce/meat? Planet Organic is probably your best bet selection-wise, although they can be a bit pricey. Don't discount the Farmer's Market if you're looking for produce/meat - there is a lot of selection there. And much of the meat that is available at Planet Organic is available direct from the producer (and cheaper) at the market.

You could also try Home Grown Organics. http://www.hgof.ns.ca/ Selection is slim at the location on Allan Street but you can order a lot through their website and they will deliver it to you if you have a standard food box delivery.
