Best Mac and Cheese in MSP

Have a friend coming into town tomorrow and they have a serious hankering for mac n' cheese.

I know this is open to interpretation, so please 'rate' it on a gourmet scale. 1 being 'easy mac' and 10 being 'aged cheese gourmet'.

I think the best we had was at Crave (Edina location) we ordered it for our daughter, I think it was on the kids menu, it was quite some time ago, I remember thinking it was the best I've had. Worth looking into.

I second Smalley's in Stillwater it was great!

Cafe Maude has really good mac and cheese, which would be a ten as it literally uses aged cheese. Smalley's in Stillwater has really good mac and cheese, which doesn't have aged cheddar, but bacon and chili's. If I had a serious hankering for Mac n' Cheese, I'd go for the latter, though the rest of the menu can be touch and go. Plus, Stillwater is nice.

Town Talk has a fancy Mac and Cheese, which seems totally in their wheelhouse, but I haven't tried it.

I took my kids to Ruth's Chris when they were to young to enjoy steak and my kids said they didn't want steak. I know that hard to believe. The kids asked for burgers and were told no. Wrong answer. So they asked if they could have mac & cheese and the server said yes!!
To this day my kids tell me of the day they had Mac & Cheese at Ruth's Chris Steakhouse and loved it. Not that they will do that for you, but it wouldn't hurt to try.

Love Smalley's in Stillwater's Mac and Cheese. Very creamy. And I loved everything else there when we were there recently.

I don't have much to compare too, but the Twin Cities Grill in the MOA has pretty good Mac and Cheese trending toward the gourmet side.
