Small Lounges in Calgary

Hi All,

My friends and I have been hooked on Mind and Vicious Circle for the past little while. Simple menu, laid back atmosphere with great drinks but we're getting tired of the same old. We're not picky on food but we do enjoy our cocktails too. Any good suggestions or hidden gems?

  1. Milk Tiger is great little place for cocktails. I'm not sure if they serve food.
Crush has some interesting drinks too.

        Ming? perhaps.

      2. Check out Taste - it's a new little spot on 1st ST in the Hotel Arts Expansion. Great small plates menu, very cool small wine list and cocktails. Looks great, too.

I love the lounge in Hotel Arts too! I thought it was called "RAW BAR" but I could be wrong. It is a great room to be in!

            Yep, Raw Bar.

        2. Milk Tiger Lounge is my all-round favourite lounge in Calgary these days. They have great munchies (but not really a full dinner)... and waffles (!) if you have a sweet tooth. No ballcaps allowed.

Winebar in Kensington is also fun -- with excellent food.

Jupiter Lounge in Kensington is a bit of a hidden laid-back gem.

Also try JaroBlue on 17th Ave SW.

Jupiter's fun. The food overall is just OK, but you can get a spaghetti bolognese that tastes exactly like a UK-style "spag bol".

PS: One of Milk Tiger's owners was a long-time bartender at Ming. Milk Tiger's cocktails are smashing.

            2. My favourite is JaroBlue on 17 Av near 12 St. SW

              1. Trib is nice.
But, sit at the bar upstairs.
I suggest some truffle wings while your there...yum.
