Which restaurant in Paris is this?

I will be in Paris next week, and I would really like to return to this one restaurant that I've been to a couple times before, but unfortunately I don't know what the name of it is or its address (I always went with other people who knew the place).

At this restaurant, the menu is set up so that you choose which meat you would like (steak, chicken, veal, etc.), choose which sauce you would like with it, and choose the side(s) you want. Good drinks, cool place. I am pretty sure it is on the Right Bank, and if I had to guess I'd say it's in the Le Marais area, or at least pretty close to it. It's on a quiet street if I remember correctly.

Anybody have any idea which restaurant it might be?

Thanks so much!

  1. Somebody on another board suggested that it might be Le Loup Blanc, which might be what I'm thinking of. My only hesitation is that the place I went to definitely had a choice of sauces to go with the meat, and Le Loup Blanc's menu makes no mention of any sauces (just says they marinate their meat). Other than that, it sounds right. So I'm not sure. Has anyone been to Le Loup Blanc? Do they have sauces that you can choose from to go with your meat?

    1. is it "Spoon" which is Right Bank, on a small road off the Champs Elysees. It is an Alain Ducasse restaurant and you mix and match your menu, choose the sauce etc. You used to read the menu left to right and select the combination you wanted. It has a very modern interior, lots of black furniture, with low backed chairs, IIRC.

      1. When you mentioned the menu with a choice of sauce and sides, the only place that came to mind was Hippopotamus (, which is a chain. Definitely not a chowhound-type place, but maybe?
