Looking for I-81 Roadside Gems.

Hello Norther New York,

I am traveling to Syracuse in a week and was wondering if anyone could recommend any great little roadside or not too far from the roadside restaurants/diners/drives/etc that really stand out.

Thanks a lot!

-C.

Thanks Mrs. X! These are all three outstanding recommendations. I am hittin' the road in a few and will report when I get back!

      Two more for you --

Sharkey's in Binghamton, NY -- claims to have invented the infamously local "spiedie" sandiwch; haven't been personally.

Hallo Berlin in Conklin, NY -- Just discovered the existence of this place, just over the PA border, and have yet to go, but it certainly looks interesting.

I never tire of recommending my hometown favorite, Heid's of Liverpool -- just two miles off 81 -- best dogs around, and a great roadside building to boot:
