Inexpensive Dinner Tonight in Pasadena
Any ideas? Good ambiance (not diner-y) and maybe about as expensive as a (decent) Mexican restaurant. Thanks!

Anyplace good is gonna be jammed, but that's OK since the bad places will be too. I'm gonna tout Central Park again, it being at $$ level, or roughly $20-$30 per mouth. They do take reservations. It gets a bit noisy, but the room is nice if informal and the wait staff very pleasant and sharp. I usually stay safe with either the flatiron steak or sand dabs; we ate with some friends who spoke highly of the salad entrées. I've also enjoyed their burger at lunch. Word of advice: this is yet another place that can't do mashed potatoes worth a damn, but their potato gratin is a creamy delight, and they will sub it in for you.
The wine list is small, but plenty of reasonable selections. Mrs. O always gets the split of Champagne, or sometimes two...

Central Park is a good call. Cafe Verde and Malbec (both on Green Street) also fit within your parameters.
