6 hour Amtrak stopover

I will be passing through Chicago by train on my way to Kansas City. i'll have from 9AM to 3PM on a Friday before my train leaves from Union Station.

Will be single, and would be willing to travel by public transport.

What would be recommended, quintessential Chicago spots for lunch? Looking for casual to business dress, any cuisine except seafood. Extra points for places which are unique or serve items unlikely to be found outside of Chicago.

I'm with the "skip Lou Mitchell's" crowd, especially if you're looking for unique. I'm guessing that they have omelets where you live.

      Greektown is always reliable.

With a 6-hour layover you're in range of all of the downtown restaurants.
