Park & 50s-60s
Esteemed Hounds
Can you offer guidance for an unrepentant returning native, in town for a visit next weekend?
Our hotel is 56 and Park-ish, and we will be spending lunch and dinner times at the Armory at 66 and Park. Little Mother and I would like to chart a course between the deluxe we cannot afford, and true Chowhound stands and hole in the wall treasures. Pleasant, small, delish, lady-Little Mother appropriate.
Many thanks,
Pink Cadillac
not going to be of too much help here, but when i see park avenue i think of park avenue summer. http://nymag.com/listings/restaurant/... and its right in the area on 63rd i believe!

Park Avenue Summer is rather expensive, so I don't think it's a good fit given what Pink Cadillac is looking for.
Sel & Poivre is near the Armory, on Lex, b/t 64th & 65th Sts. It's a sweet little French bistro with decent food and very reasonable prices.
