Pie in the San Fernando Valley

Any suggestions where I can pick up a pie on the way home from work? I know about Du-Pars, Marie Callendar's. I'm wondering if there's something off the beaten path where I can locate a scrumptious fruit pie. I work in Canoga Park and make my home in Ventura County.

  1. This place is out of your way - in Van Nuys, but their pies are terrific.

    1. You are in the wrong part of the valley when commuting to Ventura County to buy pie of any special quality. The place I might mention would be Belwood Bakery across from Jerry's Deli in Studio City, yet hardly convenient to you.

      1. Bea's Bakery in Tarzana would work ... just call ahead and make sure they have/reserve what you want!

Thank you! I've heard great things about Bea's Bakery.

        2. Between Canoga Park and Ventura County, I'd suggest checking out the Viktor Benês Bakeries inside Gelson's supermarkets, either the Calabasas or Westlake Village locations, whichever is more convenient.

Really fabulous baked goods - much, much better than the usual "supermarket bakery" quality.

(Can't vouch for the pies specifically, but I've never been disappointed with anything I've gotten there.)
