Haagen Dazs Fleur de Sel Caramel ice cream

Does anybody know of stores around the Pico/Robertson area that carry this flavor? It's a reserve flavor and I haven't been able to find it anywhere including a few Haagen Dazs stores. I am willing to travel within a few miles to try it. I've been to a bunch of Ralphs, Vons, Albertsons and Bristols in my area with no luck. They have them both in pints and bars - I am game for either.

just choose the flavor & enter your zip:

i tried it with 90034 & got 11 results, including several Albertsons & Vons...but Gelsons also came up - did you try there?

Haven't been to that one but I'll give it a try. I went to this nifty link but I must have read it wrong. I thought it said that they would email me when a new delivery comes with that flavor meaning they were out of it.

I just bought that flavor a couple of days ago at the Albertsons at 8985 Venice near National and Exposition (near the Robertson exit off the 10). Good luck finding it!

I had a hard time finding it a few months back (I'm in Beachwood Canyon), so I went online, and it looked like Albertsons and Gelsons were the only stores who carried it. Jus t a warning, though---it's ADDICTIVE!!!!

My plan is to eat tender greens for lunch tomorrow and pick up a pint afterwards. I feel like they'll balance each other out. Thanks for the heads up all.

sorta like washing down a Bacon Double Cheeseburger with a Diet Coke, right? ;)

Exactly. Somehow makes you feel a little better about the whole meal.

The ice cream was delicious but not exactly what we were looking for. The fleur de sel is really only incorporated into the chocolate pieces and scattered in the caramel ribbon. Don't get me wrong this is very tasty but we were hoping for an ice cream more similar to the budino at Mozza (in terms of how you get salt in every bite) or the sea salt caramels at Boule.

The Albertson's on Venice right where Culver starts. I have never in my entire life seen a bigger selection of Haagen Dazs, Ben N Jerry, Dreyers, etc...ice cream. They must have every single flavor from every single brand. It's actually quite scary knowing that this place exists 2 miles from my house.

The fluer de sel is kinda the poor mans budino-unless you want to weigh 18,000 lbs and be in the poor house, no one is going to go to Mozza everyday-but, if you get that craving, it's pretty satisfying. A couple of other things you might want to try is the salted caramel hot chocolate at Starbucks, and the sea salt caramels from Susina Bakery. Or, would it be crazy to throw some sea salt in a butterscotch snak-pak??

I'm actually looking for something in the ice cream or gelato consistency that I can have dessert. The sea salt in butterscotch snak-pak might be worth a try. Has anybody tried the sea salt caramel gelato at Locali? I think they carry the brand of a local gelato company but I haven't been down in that area to try it.

Got it at Von's on National near Roberts Blvd. It's so delicious! The pomegranate chip is also really good.

Can be found @Von's on Alvarado north of Sunset (which is currently going under a real nice remodel)

The Gelson's in Newport Beach and Irvine both carry it...so I suspect that perhaps all Gelson's do.

Has anybody here tried the Target private label pretzel sea salt and caramel ice cream? I see it all the time at the Irvine and Chino Hills Target but we live in LA so it's not realistic to bring it home. It seems kinda wasteful to buy a pint and not eat it all. We've asked several times if they could ship some to the LaBrea/SM Target but to no avail. But if somebody has glowing recommendation I'll buy a pint and eat as much as I can in one sitting this week because its on sale for $1.99 right now. This flavor is an interesting mix of Ben N Jerry's Chubby Hubby and the Haagen Dazs Fleur De Sel Caramel.
