mission district eats/take-out
staying with some friends in the SF mission district. They have a new baby, so I am looking for places where we can pick up good food to bring to them, great bakeries for morning coffee and breakfast, and food markets to stock up on supplies. Ideally places we can walk to as we will not have a car. They live on 26th street near Mission St. We love food and eating out but we're looking for laid back places that are OK with kids (aforementioned baby and our toddler).
Thanks!

re: wolfe
Hey wolfe, thanks for the shoutout. The second link is actually where the first one evolved from, courtesy of too many great SF Bay Area Hounds' suggestions to list. It seems to me that the OP could stock up at BiRite too if it is not too far away (waah, I'm already losing my tenuous grip on Mission geography).

Take the famous greyelf walking, eating tour of the Mission.

So many good options, so close...
Limon rotisserie has great roast chicken, ceviche, and great small plates. I have not taken out from there yet, but they are set up for it. Our family has had mixed luck with Good Frickin Chicken -- but their dining room is definitely kid/family friendly. Inca's accross the street is next on my todo list -- see the recent thread on them for more info. Cafe Stefano is another casual, kid-friendly place with surprizingly good Italian food, including good thin crust pizza. In that viscinity check out Anchor Borei (Cambodian) Spicy Bite (Indian) and Pastores (Mexican, brunch). Spicy Bite delivers too. You are surrounded by great taco options. I've been a fan of La Taqueria for many years. Others knock if for being expensive, or for bad burritos, but for me you can't go wrong with their tacos and aqua fresca. Taqueria San Jose down the street is another winner. Head up 26th to Church and check out Fattoush for Lebanese fare.
Caffeinated Comics serves artful and delicious expresso drinks -- Four Barrel beans if I'm not mistaken. Muddy Waters at 24th & Valencia is also a solid no-frills option. For desserts, start with Mission Pie. They've added pizza too. I'm a fan of Anthony's Cookies which is super close to you.
For shopping, start with Valencia Farmer's Market at 24th & Valencia. Great produce and a surprizing selection of groceries. Keep heading down the street to Lucca Ravioli. Also be sure to locate Mission Market Fish & Poultry. If you still need a supermarket, there's Safeway on Mission between 29th & 30th.
I could go on, but enough for now....

Lucca, an Italian deli on Valencia St (at 22nd) has prepared (fresh and frozen) ravioli, lasagna, sauces, etc. I've bought from them for similar purposes!
Then for Mexican, there is La Palma Deli on 24th St. Lots of prepared choices. Can freeze tamales too.
